The Lamb Of God

Scripture
Yet it was the Lord’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the Lord makes his life an offering for sin, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the Lord will prosper in his hand.
~Isaiah 53:10, NIV
Quote
Able offered a lamb for himself, the Passover lamb was for the sins of the household, Jesus offering was for the sin of the world.
~Franklin Graham
My Thoughts
Christ has done everything necessary to atone for our sins; the only thing for us to do is to recieve what He has done as a gift. It is by His marvelous grace that we are saved. It has nothing to do with our works; if it did, we would boast and it is not the will of our LORD that we should boast. He wills that we be poor in spirit, humble at heart with an attitude of meekness. Jesus is definitely our SAVIOR. He came for the express purpose to seek and to save the lost [Luke 19:10]. However, the term SAVIOR is mentioned in the NT twenty-four times but the word LORD is found over nine hundred times, of course not all in reference to Jesus but many are. Jesus is our Savior and He is also our LORD. LORD is another word for boss. Jesus has the right to tell us what to do and as His disciples, we are to obey. Paul said, “We do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as LORD.
So our calling is to magnify the LORD, to make much of Jesus. I will be preaching on John the Baptist in two weeks. John was an humble man. When the Jerusalem Times came to interview John, he refused to give them his name. “What are we going to tell our editors, the reporters ask John?” John’s answer is classic, “Just tell them I am a voice in the wilderness crying repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand.” When John was questioned by his own disciples, he said in reference to Jesus…He must increase and I must decrease. He is to get bigger and bigger and myself smaller and smaller. This is true of every believer. Christ become bigger as the self shrinks and becomes smaller.

The switch has been made, we are now under the DBC umbrella and thankful to be here. I can’t say enough in terms of my appreciation for what DBC is doing for me. I am in a learning process on the new system. One example is I do not know how to change the color of the font on this new program. Matter of fact, I can’t change anything about the font. It will take me a while to adjust. Getting to the blog will be easy, just go to danvillebaptist.org and we will be on the menu. I will get David or Josh to fix our home page so that you can go there, but right now, go to the Danville Baptist home page.
Well folks, 2026 came in with a bang. [1] Changing the blog [2] Moving to a new dwelling [3] Beginning a new sermon series out of the gospel of John to mention a few of the changes. LORD willing, we will be at the REEVES COMPOUND again today. The Plummer is supposed to be there by 8:00 and I have a top notch electrician who is coming back. It all depends on the lumber being delivered but I think we will be working on the bedroom and perhaps the kitchen today. I am thinking that we may be moving by the first of February. God is good.
June and I are expecting another great-grand girl this morning. Lara is at Madison as we speak.
I could not find a post button on new system so I copied and pasted to the old, I hope you get it!
