My Thoughts
I love Psalm 2 and this affinity goes back to my early days at a teenage preacher. There are three basic things going on in Psalm 2 that you need to be away of [1] GOD’S undisputed Sovereign ruler. Male no bones about it God is in charge. He sits in the heavens and he does what he pleases. [2] Mankind is in active rebellion against God and until we make peace with him, there will be no peace on earth among men. [3] Gods enthronment of his anointed king who who will crush man’s rebellion like a potter crushed old pottery with an iron rod. The world is in rebellion as I speak and God offering peace through the gospel of truth but man refuses to surrender. The world is not only indifferent to God, they actively comspire to over though His government, through off the shackles and do as they please and at some point God gives them over to their selfish desires which will lead to their destruction.
My favorite verse in this Psalm is verse 11, “Serve the Lord with reverent fear,
and rejoice with trembling.” Serve is a worship worship word which means we are to worship the LORD with reverent fear. This fear can be a terrifying, cringing fear and it will be if we refuse to repent to take refuge in Jesus. But for those who is awe worship the LORD, there will be joy and peace. So the formula for joy is fear-are-worship-service-JOY
We see this at the resurrection of Jesus. Mary and the women go to care for a dead body. No body is found. Mary is in agony. The empty tomb disturbed your anxious finite mind. She was sure that some one took the body. The angels appeard to console her but she refused to be consoled. Her heart was fixed to see Jesus, nothing else whould satisfy this craving. The she encournters Jesus is standing right behind her and she falls to his feet and worships him, Then her tears of grief mealt into tears of joy.

Running late today, my dopamine must be down, my fingers are not responding to my brain and typing has been a pain. Hope you have a good day. My plans today are to attend a COLS at Sardis Springs and maybe get to visit with old friends. I hope it will be a change to kill several several birds with one stone. It is a good day to work but I have a couple of friends there in bad health.
Talked to Josh Melson this morning, things are going to in Texas and he is not ready to come back to where he belongs. He sounds good and the chuch is growing; new members are mostly young people imagine that.
Carol’s sister Marjori is getting to come home, she was not taking her BP med’s. It is simple folks, take you BP meds are end up with a stroke or a hospital visit or worse.
