My Thoughts
I am reading John Philips commentary on Psalms and it is not very good so don’t waste your money. John was born in 1927 and was promoted in 2010. He was a noted preacher, bible teacher and author known mostly for his alliterated sermons. In my humble opinion, he was not a scholar. He was born in Wales but later moved to the United States and became a big part of the Moody Bible Institute. He was a devout premillennialist. Whereas I see Jesus, He sees the rapture, the antichrist or the great tribulation in every Psalm. John did have ties with both the United States and Western Europe and he saw what was happening long before he departed this world. John said and I agree: “The foundation of society are law and order; truth and justice; integrity and decency and a deliberate and concentrated attack are being waged by the left against everything that is decent, moral and Christian in our society.” I do not have one doubt: John is right on the money in his assessment. I think it would take a fool not to see this—it is blatantly obvious. John says we have two options: REVIVAL or RUIN. I don’t know about you, but I want REVIVAL.
Revival added over a century to the history of Nineveh. God has revived America twice since our inception, but evil is relentless and the devil is never without servants. The left is making an all out assault on the REPUBLIC {rule of law/constitution}. We are dealing with a subtle enemy. They don’t wear uniforms and they shoot from the shadows. As David said in Psalm 10, “They are like beast lurking in the darkness.” They love anonymity, they don’t want to be known. You don’t see them on TV; what you see are the stooges they manipulate. You are seeing the puppets but not the ones pulling the strings. These people are as shrewd as snakes and they stay hidden. They are aggitators, manipulators, instigators: they can stir riots and start wars and they always profit from the wars they start. They initiated the Russian revolution in 1917 and you know how that turned out. They initated the French Revolution in 1789. They make money and trouble where ever they go. Yes I am talking about the Sadducees, a very small group of elitist Jews who control a vast amount of the world’s wealth and they are not pro-Israel anymore than they are pro-American. They control the Federal Reserve {interest rates}, the media, Hollywood, and are dominate in the textile industry. For some strange reason, they are attracted to Marxism where an elite few run everything.

This is a marathon week: Athens yesterday morning, Calhoun last night, Russellville this morning and Cullman this evening. NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER tomorrow and awards service at DHS. I think Friday is the only day I have off. I am itching to get some things done around the apartment but no time this week. Due to all the trips and a high BP three day headache, I am going to so something old tonight. We had more decisions after this message than any in our brief history. The isles were flooded, the altar full and the invitation lasted longer than the sermon. I’ve been trying to preach since 1968 and that has happened only once. After that service, I thought I was on to something, but it wasn’t me or the text: it was the Holy Spirit and it has never been duplicated.
