Pleasing The Father

My Thoughts
Jesus was a passionate man and His greatest passion was to please His Father. Jesus told His disciples in John four, “My food, is to do the will of Him who sent me and to finish His work.” I do want to please the Heavenly Father. I very much want to hear a well done good and faithful servant, but I cannot say what Jesus said, “I always do what pleases Him.” I feel like I please Him at times but not all of the time. I think about it a lot, how can I bring pleasure to the Infinite One, to the Almighty, the self-existent eternal One? What does it take to please our earthly fathers? I think it might begin with respect. I was slow in learning this valuable lesson. I think the second thing might be gratitude. I was over 20 years old before it dawned on me that my father had made a lot of sacrifices on my behalf and that I had not shown him thanks. To listen to his wisdom and advice would bring pleasure to him. To praise him would bring him pleasure but to love him would bring him even greater joy. Jesus did all these things all the time.
Satisfying His Father was more important to Jesus than satisfying His appetite. His passion was the please His Father; may that be our passion too. My purpose statement is simply…”To be obedient to the LORD Jesus Christ.”

Have a good day, thanks for reading the blog. I was late today due to the NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER. I was the host from 5:00-6:00 and we had 17 show up during that hour. The prayer meeting I attended had six people and it was a good service. I hope you have a great day.
