For the past twenty-two days, my daily bible study has been in Psalms 119. One of the reoccuring themes of Psalm 119 is the WORD OF GOD. God’s word contains promises, exhortation, laws, commandments, precepts, rules to live by, instruction, guide lines, inspiration, rebuke and on and on I could go. the Bible is an incredible book. The sad thing is that some folks spend more time reading the news paper than they do the Bible. The Bible is saturated with truth and news papers with propaganda, and yet some people prefer reading lies to reading truth. Anyway, Psalm 119 in divided into twenty-two stanzas, according to the Hebrew alphabet. It is an acrostic. It would be like me writing a poem in English and in the first stanza, every sentence would begin with an A, second stanza with a B, and so on. I am a list maker and at the end of each stanza, I make a list of insights.

The last Hebrew letter is Tav which is Psalm 119:169-176. This is the Common English Bible translation:

Let my cry reach you, Lord;
    help me understand according to what you’ve said.
170 Let my request for grace come before you;
    deliver me according to your promise!
171 Let my lips overflow with praise
    because you’ve taught me your statutes.
172 Let my tongue declare your word,
    because all your commandments are righteous.
173 Let your power help me
    because I have chosen your precepts.
174 Lord, I long for your saving help!
    Your Instruction is my joy!
175 Let me live again so I can praise you!
    Let your rules help me!
176 I’ve wandered off like a sheep, lost.
    Find your servant
        because I haven’t forgotten
        your commandments!

Do you see the list? Just follow the word ‘LET’. The NIV uses the word ‘may’ instead of ‘Let’ but the list is clear. So after each day of study, I meditate on the insights I gained from the Psalm. ChatGPT will help you. Just asks for insight, lessons or principles on whatever Psalm you are studying. I will give you an example: insights from TAV, 169-176…
