Finishing The Task

Scripture
I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.

My Thoughts
Paul is what we call a type A personality, he was heavily driven and not easy distracted. He did achieve a great deal of success but have you ever considered how much he endured in the process. He was arrested multiple times, beaten three times by the Jews [39 lashes}, beaten by rods, imprisoned unjustly, hated by the Jews, ship wrecked more than once and even snake bitten. The devil made an all out assault on this man’s life but he kept right on serving Jesus. Paul never looked back, he never regretted giving his heart and life to Jesus and he had no intention of quitting until his task was completed. Rain or shine Paul pressed on toward his goal of knowing Jesus intimately. What a marvelous example Paul is to us!
Paul said in 2 Timothy 4, For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. I have never made the crown a big issue. When I was a boy growing up at Sardis Springs, we sang an old hymn that said, “And when the battle is over, we shall wear a crown in the New Jerusalem.” A few months back, it dawned on me what the crown of righteous really is and I want it desperately. It is the righteousness of Christ. This is our reward: we are crowned with HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS.

I am still burning the candle at both ends and writing blogs before I leave for the Compound. I know they are filled with typo’s because I cannot proof my own writting on the same day. I can read it tomorrow and spot all the mistakes. I usually write several in advance but I am doing good to write one. We are working on our utility room which is 9X16. Sounds too big, right! No really, it will have two refrigerators, one freezer, washer, dryer and pantry. I was so exhausted last night that after my shower I collapsed in the recliner and went to sleep. I was too tired to eat.
My plans are to have a normal day tomorrow. I need to study and to make some visits. You can pray for Big Mama; she has little sister today. Trust me, she will work harder than myself. Her name sake is a ball of energy.
I am still learning the new program. I do not know how to change the font on this one so Matt must have changed my headings to blue; I would change them back to Crimson if I knew how. No, the color has nothing to do with Bama football, Crimson stands for the blood of Jesus.
Even one year ago, what were the odds of Indiana being the undisputed national champion of college football? Their coach and staff are probably the only ones who saw this coming. They will beat Miami by two touchdowns.
I hope you have a great day and thanks for reading the blog.
