For Future Generations
Let this be recorded for future generations, so that a people not yet born will praise the Lord.

David wrote these Psalms 3,000 years ago. At that time, there were between 40-60 million people on earth {estimate}. Today, there is over 8 billion. If my math is correct, that is 160 people today for every person then. It is amazing to me that David understood the importance of writing these Psalms down and recording them for future generations. “Let this be recorded for generations to come, so that people not yet born may praise the LORD.” Wow! This is my imagination running wild: David is heaven looking at the numbers: hits on Psalm 23 are over 4 billion. David sits at his computer in stunned silence and then he looks to the throne and slips to his knees in worship of the awesome God who made it all happen.
I have a building full of things I have written. I have prayers that are 50 years old. What will happen to them when I am gone? Most of them will be trashed but not all. People don’t generally burn bibles and someone will see a note I have written. A hundred years from now, if the LORD does not return, someone who is not yet born will read this blog. I am fairly certain, it will not be 4 billion but with God all things are possible. Record things for future generations. I know, they are not interested in your life story at present but after you have departed things will change. I promise you, if I could find something my daddy wrote, I would read every single word.

- Hamburger and Hotdog supper Wednesday night September 16. Originally had this for the 9th but we decided to use the pavilion and so maybe the weather will be cooler by the 16th. We may have to change the menu to steak, it is cheaper than hamburger.
- October 28 is our Bill Smith Jambalaya Supper and our November Wednesday night meal falls on Veterans Day and we are having a stew and Joe is going to have us a video of our veterans at the round table.

A little extra: back in the day, my mother read every word of the DIGEST {our monthly newsletter} and every word of the weekly bulletin which the girls in the office sent her by mail. She not only read them, she saved them and read them again. Sometimes as many as six times. If everyone felt toward me as my mother did, I could be a famous author. Ha! Ha! I’ll be thrilled if you read this once.
