Sweet Hour of Prayer

Scripture
When you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private.
Matthew 6:6, NLT
Quote
Prayer is our longing for Christ, our incurable God sickness.
~Karl Barth
My Thoughts
Do you ever have a burden to pray. Jesus felt that burden in the garden of Gethsemane. It reminds me of the old hymn, SWEET HOUR OF PRAYER, that calls me from a world of care, and bids me to the Father’s throne, to spend some time with Him alone. I don’t know about you, but I personally need a daily quiet time. My normal routine has been upset by the demands of getting moved. I am working at the compound 6-8 hours every day except Sunday. I don’t function well with this schedule. I prefer to spend 6-8 hours in the study; at least four or five.
Jesus assumed we would all pray. He said, “When you pray, not if you pray.” I need to pray and I want to pray. God speaks to me often when I am reading the bible or praying. I desperately need fellowship with Him. I thirst for intimacy with Christ. Wow, what a privilege to be able to carry everything, not just somethings, but everything to Him in prayer.

Then 49er Fellowship is still on: 11:30 tomorrow!
My good friend and neighbor Randy Lewis is very low. He did not respond to me at all yesterday and his breathing was very shallow. Pray for Randy and Vickie.
THANKS for reading the blog.
