My Thoughts
The above text is a quote from Psalm 8. When David speaks of being created a little lower than the angels, he is initially speaking of mankind. But Psalm 8 is prophetic and Christ alsoreferred to Himself as the Son of Man. We were created lower than the angels, Christ became lower by His own choice. But this rank is all temporary; someday we will be elevated above the angels [1 Corinthians 6:3]. We not only regain our dominion that we had before the fall, we become a part of Christ’s glorious kingdom. So it is a “Now” and “Then” thing. Now we are servants; hopefully humble obedient servants…then we will be kings or rulers assisting Christ in the administration of His kingdom.
During WWII Queen Elizabeth II, was a princess, her father George VI was king. She went to her father and asks him to allow her to join the military so she could serve her country just as others were doing. He did not allow her to join a combat unit but he did allow her to get into the ATS {British women’s army}. Elizabeth went in as a Private and was under the command of a very stern Sergeant. Elizabeth followed the Sergeants commands until February 6, 1952: the day King George VI died. Upon his death, Elizabeth became the queen of England. This changed everything. Elizabeth had voluntarily taken a lower rank so as to serve her fellowman but now she had been elevated to her destined office. Paul said in Romans 8, And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering. Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later. He also said to Timothy, If we suffer with Him, we shall also reign with Him. Presently, we are servants and we are to suffer with Him and for Him.

Praise the LORD for the wonderful rain. I came to the office a little before 5:00 and we were at 1.92. It rained here most of the night and was still raining when I came to the office. It is wonderful. I hoed the garden right before sundown last night and we have tomatoes with blooms. I think the soil here is good. We had a concrete party scheduled for 8:30 but I think we might have to delay that a bit due to the rain.
I sure hope you got rain. I have a lot of burning I need to do. I dug up another stump yesterday and my burn pile needs reducing. I took vacation this week hoping to get some things done. I will see you Grace Pointers Sunday.
