I am in the habit of listening to John MacArthur before I start a new sermon in the gospel of John and this week I was shocked and pleased. MacArthur does not state things the same way I do but he was in full agreement with my thoughts on the Jewish Religious Establishment. He uses the word “System” instead of establishment. MacArthur said that Judaism illustrates the daming power of false religion. Jesus said in Matthew 23, “What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you shut the door of the Kingdom of Heaven in people’s faces. You won’t go in yourselves, and you don’t let others enter either.” Jesus told them they were blind guides leading the blind. He called the hypocrites over and over. He called them out in public. He denounced them openly and often. They were hiding behind a false face of religious facade or pretention.

The results was pure hatred. They hated Jesus and wanted Him dead. It frightened them that He had a following and they did everything in their power to demonize Jesus. They went so far as to say He had a demon and that he cast out demons by the power of Beelzebub, the prince of demons. They accused him of being insane. They did everything in their power to destroy His credibility and in the end, they pressured the government into executing Jesus for them. Let me tell you folks, the same group is still alive and well and they still use the same tactics. It is a organized system who’s intent is to destroy Jesus and anyone who follows Him. Although the President doesn’t openly profess to be a Christian, he had taken a bold stand for the rights of the unborn, for the middle class working man and for biblical values. He has stood in bold opposition to same sex marriage, the transgender movement, radical feminism and he has stood firm on protecting Americans. The same group that hated Jesus now hates Trump and they own and control the media and the democratic/socialist party.

There is one thing that has changed: they no longer talk about Abraham, Moses, David or Elijah. The JRE of Jesus day knew the Bible; they just didn’t practice it, but they did know it. This group of elite Jews who are running things today don’t believe in anything other than money and power. You might say, they are all Sadduccees. Rich and powerful but with no convictions or character. Gold is their God and they feed on controlling others just like they did in Jesus day. They threatened anyone who followed Jesus with being thrown out of the synagogues or not allowed in the temple. Sounds like the Catholics in the Middle Ages–controlling the masses with fear. The Kingdom of our LORD and Christ is not controlled by fear but by love. Fear and hate are of the evil one and he is the one behind all false religions, and that includes secular humanism which has taken the place of ancient Judaism.

Great turnout last night: wow, what a feast! Great job folks. These Wednesday night suppers just keep getting better and better. Next month is our fish fry and I think it is April 8. We have already secured our cooking team. I got to spend some time with Chad and Tiffany last night. Chad is a native of Limestone County. Went to high school at Clements where many of my old Calhoun buddies graduated like John Wayne King and Wally Gordan. We have several mutual acquaintances like Keith McKay who is a cowboy and I think a team roper. Chad is a roper. Tiffany graduated at Brewer. Chad is going to help us with the fish fry.

Mary Bradly is having a shoulder repacement this morning at Crestwood. I have to be at Lynn Layton first thing to get our truck. He depends on how soon they get to Mary as to whether I make it or not. Pray for Mary and Steve. I love this couple.

Nothing major on the move, just snags or bumps in the road. We are still at 1120 but the internet is going off here on Friday morning as soon as I post. LORD willing I will move my office over the weekend. My accountant is getting stressed over all these double bills. We have to start trimming the fat.
