Three Reasons to Hunger For Righteousness

for they will be filled.

Those who have God’s heart have God’s hands

My Thoughts
People are hungry, but not for righteousness. People crave happiness not knowing that the pursuit of happiness can lead to misery. Our goal should be righteousness and the by product of this pursuit will lead to happiness. Martyn Lloyd Jones points our three reasons we should hunger and thirst for righteousness. First of all, the righteousness of Christ is the only way to heaven. No one can live in God’s presence unless they are righteous like Christ. Jesus is the only way to righteousness; thus Jesus is the only way to heaven. No man can say, “I want heaven but not Jesus.” Without Jesus, there is no heaven. The second reason for pursuing righteousness and that it is infinitely greater than sin. Sin is hateful. It is also stupid, destructive, enslaving and it leads to misery and hell. Why would any sane person pursue sin instead of righteousness. The third reason we should hunger for righteousness is that it does lead to our glory and happiness. There is no glory like the glory of the resurrected life.

Love the weather, not hot nor cold, just right. LORD willing we will be back to the Reeves Compound today. Good crowd at worship last night. I really enjoyed hearing the congregation sing. I loves the songs we sang, although my voice is not stronger enough to sing. I got a blessing from listening.
Mens breakfast Saturday morning at 8:00. Everyone is welcome. Bacon, eggs, sausage, country steak, gravy, Buddy biscuits and we may even have grits and hog jowls. Last time we had pan cakes. Plenty of good eating. If you are a man, you are invited.
We are still out of our routine and will be for a while. After we get moved, I will have to move my office building. I am guessing it will be two months before things get back to normal.
Have a great day and thanks for reading the blog.
