Yahweh Reigns

Scripture
The Lord reigns, he is robed in majesty;
the Lord is robed in majesty and armed with strength;
indeed, the world is established, firm and secure.
Psalm 93:1, NIV

Some things change; some things never change.

My Thoughts
We live in a moral universe and there is nothing you can do to change it. Junior Hill sent me a card some years ago that simply said, “Dr. Jack, Jesus loves you and there is nothing you can do about it.” There are some things we can change; like our minds, or our clothes, or the curtains or carpet, but there are other things we cannot change. The LORD reigns! He has always reigned. You can believe this or disbelieve this, but whether you believe or not, the LORD reigns! The LORD reigns and there is nothing anyone or any group can do about it. He is in absolute control and He is not going to change; nor will His moral laws and principles. They are carved in stone, literally. The law of retribution is woven into the fabric of the universe and all the liberals in Washington, all the Sadducces in New York city, and all the communist in China cannot change one single law that God has established to make His creation stable.
Our forefathers were wise men. They founded this country on natural law {the laws fixed by nature and nature’s Creator}. These laws were not created by men. John Locke believed that man could discover them by reason. In other words, none Christians can see them if they only think and study. They have always existed and they do not change. There is no distinct number but here are the basic ones:
- Murder (harm life)
- Assault or enslave (harm liberty)
- Steal or destroy property
- Deceive in ways that violate trust and justice
- Respect of life, freedom and human dignity
- Preserve the lives of others when possible
- Keep promises and contracts (essential for society)
Now you can break any of these laws, but not without consequences. If you study the list, you will understand the pure evil of ABORTION because it violates LAWS 1,4,5,6 and you could make a case for 2,3. The left can talk about the evolution of morality but that is pure propaganda: morality does not evolve, it is fixed in creation by our HOLY GOD. The reason they reject His law is that they reject Him. O yeah, you can break these laws if you have a mind to, but you will not be able to prevent them from breaking you. We reap what we sow and different seeds have different maturation times. You can reap turnip greens in a month to six weeks but not corn or cotton. There is no doubt that there are evil people in the world bent on rebellion against God and His law, and many of them are prosperous, but ultimately, they will be destroyed and eternally separated from all that is good. The universe is moral and no one can change this fact.

Another great LORD’s day. His goodness is off the charts. God is so good to me that I feel terrible every time I complain about the least thing. June and I are in limbo. We actually have more things at our new place that we have here and LORD willing we are moving the office building Tuesday. Of course that depends on weather. We have a COLS today at 1:00 and then we have to get the water and sewege unhooked. The power is disconnected. I am terribly anxious to get all this stuff done so I can get back to my routine.
The COLS is for Janie Stephenson Nolen. Janie is a sister to Jimmie Stephenson and an aunt to Jennifer, Freddie, and Suzanne. She and Jimmy Mother was a real sweetheart and she {Mrs. Mildred Morris Stephenson} lived to be 100 and loved my fried apple pies. Mrs. Mildred attened our Senior Adult luncheons faithfully although shew was a member of West Hartselle. I have been knowing the Stephenson 46 years and they have been good friends and faithful supporters.
June and I had an act of kindness come our way yesterday evening. A group from the church went to the Top of The River and they brought us some turnip greens, slaw, cornbread and hushpuppies. I was waiting when David came to the door. He handed me a to-go plate box and he was empty. He got a big kick when I shook the empty box and I’m sure I looked dejected. I said, “Son, that is not funny.” Then he stuck out the real bag with the goodies. Love you Grace Point; that was a wonderful gesture of love. Made my day. THANK YOU!
I’ve been having problems with my lower back and riding is painful. I don’t go anywhere unless it is absolutely necessary. I am trying a new cushion tomorrow to see it that will help.
I hope you have a great day and thanks for reading the blog.

David Wood
I was visiting with Bill and Sue Wood yesterday evening and Bill told me a story that I had never heard. When David was a child, they lived in Falkville, on the school side {west}. David was going to the store on the East side and he enjoyed running so he came to Highway 31, gave it a brief glance and then hit it wide open. A snow bird on the way to Florida hit him. David must have been light on his feet; when the car hit him, he went airborne over the hood and his head hit and broke the windshield. David toppled over the top of the car and was thrown into highway 31. He was knocked unconscious and his clothes torn practically off. A man at the service station saw the accident and ran immediately to stop the traffic so that David did not get run over again. When David came to, he was surrounded by strangers and half naked. Then his dad got there and they bused him to the hospital where they found at that time no broken bones. It was a miracle. Later they found a broken collar bone but were not sure it was related to the accident. The B part of the story is the man that hit David folloed them to the hospital, but not out of concern for David’s life. He wanted Bill’s insurance company info. He later sued for damages to his car. If I were to run over a child, the last thing I would be concerned about is my car. David is a good friend to the Bailey family. He and his son Riley attended practically all of Ty’s games. Riley only missed a couple if that many.
To be honest with you, I am not that good of a friend. I don’t plan to go to anymore high school basketball. This loud noise they play, that they call music, is a form of torture to an old man like me. Of course they don’t care. Plus, the cheer leaders stomping the bleachers which gives me a head ache. Again, they don’t care what it gives me. The third reason I will not go back is the kids that are there just to play, to run in and out the whole time. A fourth thing would be the $10 it cost to get in. For Holly and her family, it was $50 to see Ty’s last game. That is like the prices at JEFFERSONS in Hartselle. Three people, each eating a hamburger and fry was $80.00. They are too high.
Home Depot
June ordered our shower on line from HOME DEPOT. She found one on sale for $587.00. She called Charles and he said that is a good price so she ordered the shower. It is a remodeling kit that comes in four pieces. After she ordered what she thought was the shower; we found out that it did not include the base. Kind of like the old Sears and Robuck trick on chain link fence. It only included the wire, no post, no rail, no hardware and by the time you buy all the other things, it is no sale at all. It is a corporate gimmick. You can’t have a shower without the base. So we order the base, another $400 and it finally comes it. Our plumber opened it and it was damaged. He said, “You don’t want this.” So we sent it back and ordered a second one at our expense, we had to pay $55 more dollars. The second one comes in and it is damaged even worse than the first. June calls and they want even talk to her. I am so sick and tired of the entire mess that I take a can of white spray paint and paint over the damaged areas and tell plumber, put it in, we are not ordering another one. If you don’t have to deal with corporate America, you are blessed. They can think of a million ways to rip you off and they will. The least Home Depot could do would be to give us the $55 back but they don’t want to talk about it. O for the days of a family owned local business like Garnett’s Lawn Equipment or Corum’s building and Supply, which is no more. The big stores can sale cheaper but in the long run, you will pay more because their goal is to get your money, not to satisfy you with a good product.
