“Ignorance of providence is the ultimate of all miseries; the highest blessedness lies in the knowledge of it.”

My Thoughts

Most of us are very familiar with stories of God’s providential guidance and protection during war of Independence in the life and times of George Washington America’s most indespensenable hero. A fact you will not get from a government textbook. The libs have demonized Washington for owning slaves. John Phillips was a native of Great Britan and a veteran of WWII. According to Phillips {Commentary on Proverbs, Vol. II, page 156} Germany wanted to invade the British Isles and was only prevented from doing so by the weather and who controls the weather. The British army and their allies where trapped by the Germans at Dunkirk {costal city in Northern France} and the Germans were advancing with overwhelming odds. Lord Gort, who was the commander of the British forces was given permission to evacuate and cross the English channel. Everything depended on the wind and the weather. First, the allies released water from the dams which flooded or at least muddied the ground that the Germans had to cross. This bought them some time to gather a fleet of small boats. At first they needed the wind to face the German advance but when they embarked in the boats, they needed the wind to change and blow toward the sea. They also needed the cover of fog while crossing the channel. The boats they were in where not all naval and had no defenses. At just the right time, the wind changed and the fleet of boats were hidden in a sea of fog which made it impossible for the German air force {Luftwaffe} spot them.

The Germans were intent on invading England but time and again, the weather stopped them. One such attempt came on September 16, 1940. It was the perfect time for the German army to cross the channel. It was a full moon when the channel was its calmest and brightest. Just as the Germans were set to get on the way, the remnants of a hurricane blew in and upset the channel. The Germans had to abort the mission. Another time, the German planned to cross under the cover of almost certain fog and there was no fog at all.

Solomon was right; No human wisdom or understanding or plan can stand against the Lord!

We have restored power to our office building and already covered the line. PTL, we had a few bumps like a bad breaker but John Harold the genius figured it out. The boy has always had a sharp mind. Jeff is waiting for a part to finish the gas and Charles has some fine tuning to do but it is looking good and we are very close. We are ready for our plumber to finish out, but I’m pretty sure he does not read the blog. As for me I get to slow the pace and get on the tractor and work on my yard and driveway. Everyone has been so good. I plan to work on my front side walk today. I am so excited. Good service last night, good attendance. Good attendance at the baseball stadium dedication. The stadium is something else.

Have a good day, thanks for reading the blog. Love this weather.
