A Little Humor

A cheerful heart is good medicine,
but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.

My Thoughts

June sent me to Krogers the other day to get one ingredient and on the way, I forgot the name of the ingredient. Most of the time I have to have help finding things and so I commandeered a young man and told him I was looking for something that came in a can and went went into a pie. He said, “Could you be a little more specific.” I said, “It is in a can, it goes in a pie, it is red and it is on this side of the store, how much more specific can I be.” I usually find a woman to help me but this kid just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. The truth is: every woman in the store probably avoids me. I walked into a place of business last week wearing my FBI cap and I walked staight to the counter where a pretty young blond was standing and without hesitation, she said, “He [referring to the young man at the the other register} will wait on you, and she impolitely turned her back to me and walked to the otherside of the counter. I don’t know if it was me or the cap or both that offended her but that heifer doesn’t have to worry about me offended her again: I don’t take rejection will and I can’t remember the store or what I went after.

Back to Ma Krogers…The young man did not lose his patience with me and starts down every aisle asking me if it could be this or that. After a three aisle check, he pulled out a can of cherry pie filling and said “Is it this.” “Yes, that is it, I said, I told you if was in a can, it was red and that it went in a pie.” He smiled and said, “Your sure did and you were very specific.” This also happens at the Sunday lunch, I sit down to eat and realize I have forgot something {pepper, napkin, hot sauce, etc} and than I forget what I forgot and I go to grunting, pointing and stuttering untill June gets up an gets {or did}. It happened one Sunday a couple of years ago. I forgot to get a gravy whipper and for some reason when I raised my hand and grunted; June who was still in the kitchen, reached for the napkins and broght me two or tree. Lori, my sweet daughter-in-law was amazed.

It has not been a good week for me and the women: first the cold-hearted rejection at the counter and then I got shewed out of a hospital room by an angry female. Of course neither of these experiences were pleasant at the time but now as I recall them, I get a chuckle.

Still reading Charlie Kirks book, I am making progress but I am slow. Charlies says being dehydrated can keep you from sleeping and that 4-6 hours per night is not enough sleep. I’ve been drinking water for the past five days and I went to sleep around 10:00 with my ear phones in and laying flat of my back. I was listening to John MacArthur’s preview of John 8. I woke up at day break. I am thrilled. I got two shots yesterday and one was a steroid and my leg is much better already and that is good because I need to study today.

This blog is probably latent with errors, I did it this morning.
