Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith.

I had rather be the doctor than the patient, hadn’t you? I had rather be the one behind the counter dipping out the soup as to be the one in the soup line. I had rather be the helper than the one needed help. As our LORD said often in the form of a proverb, “It is more fun to give than to recieve.” Who could you help today? Just give it some thought! Do not pray about this unless you are serious. If you ask the LORD for an opportunity, He will give one. So if you are not sincere, you best not mention it to Him.
Some twenty-five years ago, I got the opportunity to sit under the teaching of Stephen Covey, a Morman, but a brilliant man. He taught us via satellite and his insights changed my life. One of the things we had to do was make a to-do list and priotize it by putting first things first. For me, that was my QT with the LORD. As I would pray about the days activities, I ask Him to give me the opp to help someone that day and I wanted Him to guide me to the person that needed help. I was amazed. I call it and AOK {act of kindness}. It can be something as simple as a text message, a phone call, a visit, a gift or even a smile. To get into the habit, I had to make it a discipline.
There is a simply formula for happiness or joy: Jesus first, Other second and Yourseld last. It will work, but in order for it to work, we have to forget about ourselves. When ever I encounter folks who are wallowing in self-pity, I encourage them to think about someone else who has a greater problemor affliction. Invariable, they come right back to themselves. You will never be happy putting yourself first. William Booth, the founder of the Salvation Army was on his death bed, too week to attend the annual Salvation Army convention. They ask him to send them a brief message to read to the convention and he did; it was two words—THINK OTHERS.
We celebrated America’s 250 birthday yesterday at the POINT. David and Joe put it together and they did an excellent job. The video was top notch. I am sure that the left would not approve of our party but we celebrated anyway. We are patriotic at the POINT: the libs in DC will have to get use to it. The four major branches of the Military were present. We had one Navy veteran, one Marine, three Air Force and the rest were Army. Great service guys.
I am thrilled to report to you that while June and I were at Marie’s COLS it came a rain at our house. We got almost an inch and a half {1.41}. The garden is muddy and the pond is full. I told someone the other day: the pond will not be full again until November. I was wrong and gladly so. Plus the rain cooled things down a bit. Thank you LORD for the rain. You have shown us mercy once again and we thank you!
God bless you and thanks for reading the blog.
