Who Is Running The Clock?

The wicked will not always rule over the land of the righteous.
~Psalm 125:3, GNT
From age to age He stands, and time is in His hands; the beginning and the end.

I went for almost nine years without shaving because I took a Nazarite vow on the eve of Bill “Slick Willy” Clinton’s election. I said I would not shave as long as this immoral man was in office. Millions of babies died because of Clinton’s liberal politics. He even vetoed three bans on partial birth which is a horrifying procedure. All these professing Christians who vote for democrats ought to be made to watch a partial birth abortion. Jimmy Carter was almost as bad; he just covered his evil with a cloak of self-righteousness. Evil people have a way of getting in power. Hitler and Stalin are examples but they will not stay in power because they are on a running clock. Their reign of terror may last for awhile but it has an expiration date.
Years ago {Joe David was a junior in High School} I was an official, not a good one; but I helped call high school football. Joe David played for Danville and so I was not calling Friday night games but they were running short of help and they insisted I run the clock at the Danville game. I don’t know who we were playing but it was going down to the wire. I was nervous the entire night but I really lost track of what I was doing as I tried to watch Joe David and the game and run the clock at the same time. Right at the very end of the game with just a few seconds left, I forgot to start the clock. My friend Terry Cole was beside me in the press box, and he had already had to stop it twice because I was distracted. Any way, no one was keeping the time on the field and the clock showed time when the game should have been over. My good friend Donald J. Widner was the white cap {head man on the field}. He had no choice but to allow Danville to run another play. If Danville had scored, the other team would have looked me up and assissinated me. Thank goodness, T-Bone dropped a pass {I am kidding, the pass fell incomplete} and my neck was saved. Our daughter Hope spent the night with the Segars family and the next morning at breakfast she said, “Who was that idiot running the clock last night.” They all laughed and some one told her, “It was your daddy.”
Well, I am not running the celestial clock, the LORD God almighty is on the clock. He is no idiot and He will decide when your game is over. Remember that fool in Luke 12 who bragged about the time he had left. Lets move him from the farm to the football field. He is running up and down the side line holding up four fingers saying the “last quarter belongs to me.” The LORD was on the clock. He was watching the whole thing and He said, “Nope, your time is up. You have played your last down. No more football for you.”
- Another warm morning but we can handle it.
- David and Lori have a granddaughter that they can see and touch. She made her entry into the outside world yesterday. They have been grand parents for nine months. Her name is Palmer Kait. Thank God she was concieved in love and given the right to life. Shame on those who support abortion.
