One Mediator

For, There is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus.

~1 Tomothy 2:5, NLT

Every thing we have pertaining to the the spiritual realm comes through Christ.

~Ya’akov

Paul made it very clear in his letter to the Ephesians, All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. {Eph.1:3} In pouring out His love, not one drop falls a part from Christ. The Holy Father can love us only through Christ. Jesus is the only begotten full of grace and truth and is the Son that brings the Father pleasure. For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ, and through Him God reconciled everything to Himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross. {Col.1:18-20} Every thing the Father has purposed for us comes through Jesus. When we say ‘No’ to Jesus; we are forfeiting everything God has for us. Forgiveness, cleansing, holiness, happiness, love, joy, peace…you name it, all come through Christ.

Paul said there is One God and one Mediator, the Man Christ Jesus. He is our priest. He and only He can usher us into the presence of the Father. God amazing love was poured into Christ and Christ poured it into us. The honey has always been in the flower but only Christ could extract that honey and give it to us. I will with pleasure tell you exactly where I stand: I AM A JESUS MAN. If Jesus is not in the center of your theology—you are a heretic. If He is not in your plans—you are a lunatic. If He is not in your thoughts or conversation—you are an ungrateful wretch. If Jesus is not the subject and focus of your preaching—your are just another wind-bag full of hot air.

A young man gave me a CD several years back {25-30} and asks me to listen to it. Evidently he thought I could learn something from hearing a successful preacher. I want call the preacher’s name but his initials are AS and his father was a famous preacher in the Atlanta area. I did listen to the message. It was a “How To Be Successful” message basically out of the book of Proverbs. He never mentioned Jesus one time in the entire message. You may fill up a 6,000 seat sanctuary three times every Sunday with your wit, charm, wisdom, charisma and marketing skills but if you are not preaching Jesus, I am not interested.

“My flesh and my heart may fail,
But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”

—Psalm 73:26

  • Came up with a solution to our Wednesday night delimma. I will do both services. So when the time changes in November, we will have a Wednesday day service with a light lunch. It will begin at 10:30 am. Our night service will be at 6:00 and it will be a duplicate of the morning. You do not need to come to both. We will begin the am services November 18. We have the Veteran’s Day Stew on November 11 and we will wait till after the stew. On November 26, there will be the AM service with lunch but no night meeting.
  • Don’t forget someone out there needs you to intercede for them today.
  • Outdoor Church Sunday September 6 @ 8:00
  • Get the WORD TO THE WORLD Sunday September 13th. I am challenging every member to give $35 to translate a scripture verse so that people who have never had a bible in there language will have one. Our goal is to do the book of JAMES, 108 verses. I think we will give you two Sundays to get your $35, September 13 and 20.
  • Slidder and Hotdog supper Wednesday night September 16. Originally had this for the 9th but we decided to use the pavilion and so maybe the weather will be cooler by the 16th.
  • Monday October 26…we are hosting the pastor appreciation banquet at the POINT. Things are a little different this year. We will need a 49er type meal because this is also the annual meeting of the executive committee. Instead of feeding 20, we will be feeding 60. We will get the KFC, drinks and rolls but we need your help with the other things. Instead of having the 49er meal on Oct. 23, we are asking the 49ers to help us with the meal on Monday October 26. You do not have to attend the meeting just bring your food at lunch time and stay for lunch. It will work if we have a servant’s heart!
  • October 28 is our Bill Smith Jambalaya Supper and our November Wednesday night meal falls on Veterans Day and we are having a stew and Joe is going to have us a video of our veterans at the round table.

Have a great day and thanks for reading the blog!!!!
